Interactive astrological map
Kapparo
What is Kapparo?
Kapparo is an interactive astrological map: a three-dimensional sky you can rotate, zoom and step inside. Enter your birth date, time and place and it shows where the Sun, Moon and planets stood at the moment you were born, then explains each placement in plain language.
You can read the same sky in three traditions: Western (tropical) astrology, Vedic (sidereal) astrology and Chinese astrology. Kapparo also shows today’s sky and a year-ahead forecast built from the planets’ current movements against your birth chart.
Kapparo is free and needs no account. Kapparo itself sets no cookies, and positions are calculated in your browser, so your birth details never leave your device. The site is supported by advertising; see the privacy policy for details.

- Astrological map
- A picture of the sky with the planets and zodiac signs placed where they were or are, so you can see their relationships at a glance.
- Birth chart (natal chart)
- The map of the sky for the exact moment and place you were born. It shows your Sun sign, Moon sign, rising sign, the planets, houses and the angles between them.
- Sun, Moon and rising sign
- The Sun sign is your core identity, the Moon sign your inner emotional world, and the rising sign (Ascendant) the way you meet the world. The rising sign needs your birth time and place.
- Transits and the year ahead
- Transits are the planets’ current positions compared with your birth chart. Kapparo uses them to describe the themes of the months ahead.
- Western, Vedic and Chinese astrology
- Western astrology uses the tropical zodiac tied to the seasons. Vedic astrology uses the sidereal zodiac tied to the stars and adds the lunar mansions (nakshatras). Chinese astrology counts years in a twelve-animal and five-element cycle.
